【 New Product 】 Shanghai Shuming Releases 2.5A Compatible Optocoupler Isolation Single Channel Gate Driver SLMi350

SLMi350 New Product Introduction

The SLMi350 is packaged in DIP8GW, with a peak driving current capacity of 2.5A. By adopting industry-leading dual capacitor isolation technology and "OOK" transmission technology, it achieves an isolation voltage of 5kVrms and an isolation surge voltage of up to 10kV. It also has a common mode transient immunity (CMTI) of over 150kV/us, ensuring reliable and stable operation in extremely harsh working environments. In addition, SLMi350 can be widely used in fields such as motor drives, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), EV charging, inverters, etc. Its packaging is DIP8GW as shown in Figure 1, providing a creepage and clearance distance greater than 7.0mm.

Driving circuit of IGBT for SLMi350

The IGBT driver circuit of SLMi350, which provides interlocking protection function, is shown in Figure 2. Due to the overlapping control signals of two IGBTs on the same bridge arm or the long delay of the switching device itself, the upper and lower IGBTs are directly connected, and the bridge arm is short circuited. At this time, the rate of current rise and surge impact current are both high, which is easy to damage the IGBT. Due to the SLMi350's support for input interlock protection function, it can effectively prevent the problem of direct connection between the upper and lower pipes, and strictly prevent the occurrence of overcurrent caused by arm bridge short circuits.

Significant advantages of SLMi350

From the performance comparison shown in Figure 3, it can be seen that the SLMi350 has significant advantages compared to the optocoupler isolation drive or capacitor isolation drive of mainstream international manufacturers in the market:

  • The input terminal has stronger resistance to negative pressure;

  • Wider voltage withstand range at the output end;

  • CMTI has more outstanding anti-interference ability;

  • Wider operating temperature.

conclusion

At present, SLMi350 has been tested by customers in various fields such as frequency converters, inverters, UPS, induction heating, etc. It is now available for mass supply. Customers are welcome to apply for samples or evaluation boards on the official website of Shuming.
